Studio Time
My band went into the studio for the first time today. Our intention is to put out a six-song EP at some point in the next few weeks.
Today we tracked all the instruments. We recorded live with minimal punch ins and only a few overdubs (twin leads!!!).
I’ll have to book another studio day to lay down vocal tracks and add whatever sorts of embellishments we can think of between now and then. There’s been some talk of horns. And we still need to work out some vocal harmonies since every dude in the band sings.
It was an amazing day. Such a cool feeling to have these songs I wrote come to life with this band. First it was great live, and soon it will be great on a studio recording. Of all the shit I’ve been (put myself) through in the last year, this band is by far the best and most productive thing I’ve done.
If only I could kick this lingering throat ailment. Then all would be peaches and ham.
